These plastic fragments, which come under the category of micro-plastics (MPs), are generally 0.05–5 mm in size, and due to their small size they are frequently consumed by aquatic organisms. As a result, widespread MPs infiltration is a global concern for the aquatic environment, posing a threat to existing life forms. MPs easily bind to other toxic chemicals or metals, acting as vector for such toxic substances and introducing them into life forms. Polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene, and other polymers are emerging pollutants that are detrimental to all types of organisms. The main route for MPs into the aquatic ecosystems is through the flushing of urban wastewater. 4953 | Meningoradiculitis post-COVID-19 mRNA vaccination: A case report We present a rare case of meningoradiculitis occurring after mRNA COVID-19 vaccination. This patient, with a history of inflammatory arthritis following rubella vaccination, presented to the emergency department 4 days after her vaccination with both central and radicular nervous system symptoms. Symptoms included pain, sensory and motor deficits in L5 roots distribution, along with signs of central irritation, such as headache, difficulty concentrating and a Babinski sign. MRI showed bilateral L5 nerve roots enhancement. Lumbar puncture showed elevated protein and IgG, and relevant serologies excluded common causes. Prednisone and physical therapy helped the patient to achieve near complete recovery nine weeks after presentation. We concluded that this patient presented meningoradiculitis probably secondary to her vaccination in a context of possible overactive immune system. 4954 | Spatial distribution of aerosol optical depth over India during COVID-19 lockdown phase-1 The present study analysed the spatial distribution of Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) over India during the COVID-19 lockdown phase -1 (March 25 to April 15, 2020) using MODIS Terra (MOD04) AOD data (550 nm) during 2001–2020. Air temperature, rainfall, forest fire incidents, and wind patterns were analysed to understand their effect on the distribution of aerosols over India during the lockdown phase-1. Moderate absorption fine aerosol type is predominant but sparsely distributed over India during the study period compared to the reference period indicating the positive influence of the lockdown. Mean AOD has reduced by 9% over India during the lockdown phase-1 compared to the corresponding mean of the past 19 years (2001–2019). About 70% of the states/UTs of India showed a reduction in mean AOD due to restrictions on non-essential economic activities and rainfall occurrence. However, some states showed an increase in aerosol loading over specific pockets despite the restrictions on economic activities (Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat, Orissa, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Assam, Nagaland, Manipur and Karnataka) because of active forest fire cases. 4955 | 122 Early evidence of the economic effects of COVID-19 pandemic on the horse show industry The economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have diffused across all sectors of the global economy. Reporting the reduction of in person horse shows and an early assessment of its impact on the economy was the objective of this study. The survey instrument was disseminated to horse show participants through web-based modes and email. A Qualtrics survey was posted on numerous social media pages, including extension, horse shows, and breed associations and was also emailed to the APHA listserv of show participants (n = 251). Most survey respondents were female (n = 240; 95.6%) representing a cross-section of US states (n = 42; 84.0%). Participants reported planning to attend an average of 9.7 (SD = 7.15) in person horse shows in 2020, and had to miss an average of 4.17 (SD = 3.11) shows due to COVID-19 restrictions as of June 15, 2020. Horse show participants reported spending a mean of $991 (SD = $648.26; Range = $0.00 to $4,000.00) per show and therefore $9,612 annually on horse show-related expenses. Specific expenditures that were collected included lodging (either hotel or RV), fuel, meals, entry fees, stalls/boarding, and miscellaneous. The American Horse Council (2018) reported 1,227,986 horses make up the competition sector. On average, each horse owner shows 1.57 horses (US Equestrian Federation) and therefore horse show participation generates $7.5 billion annually when utilizing this survey's responses of average show expenditures of $991 per show. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the decreased attendance of in person shows from 9.7 to 5.53, resulted in a decrease in annual expenditures with an early estimation of potential economic loss to be $3.23 billion. In this study, the quantified direct effects were then used in the IMPLAN input-output model to estimate the total economic impact of expenditures within the economy. A reduction in economic output of $7.2 billion and a reduction in approximately 50,000 jobs that are directly or indirectly connected to the horse show industry, was the result of decreased attendance of in person horse shows. Additionally, the industry's contribution to GDP (value added) was reduced by $3.95 billion. Economic hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has stretched across most sectors of the economy, including the horse show industry. OBJECTIVES: The aim of the present survey is to collect empirical data on the self-image of qualified nursing professionals in Switzerland using the example of Upper Valais and to show how nursing professionals assess their public image in this region. The self-image of nursing professionals is compared with their perception of their public image. Possible connections between sociodemographic data and the self-perception of the image are also investigated. METHODS: To implement the research project, a quantitative and a qualitative design was chosen. Using the Porter Nursing Image Scale and a cross-sectional design, 364 nursing professionals were interviewed about their image. At the same time, two focus group interviews with a total of 18 nurses from the acute care sector as well as from the inpatient and outpatient long-term care sector were carried out and analyzed in terms of content. RESULTS: Nursing professionals in Upper Valais have a good self-image, but consider themselves to be less influential and largely dependent. Their perception of the public image is clearly more negative compared to their self-image. 4962 | Is COVID-19 Causing More Business Closures in Poor and Minority Neighborhoods? We are starting to understand the magnitude of economic damage from the COVID-19 pandemic. Current estimates cover the national or state level, but tell us little about how massive business closures may be affecting urban vitality at the intrametropolitan level. A particular concern is whether urban areas with high poor or minority populations are more deeply affected. This paper combines InfoGroup Historic Business Data and Google Map API to analyze business closures at the neighborhood level in Franklin County, Ohio, encompassing the Columbus Metropolitan Area. As expected, retail and restaurant sectors had the highest number of closures, but closure rates were higher in other sectors. 4963 | Resilient by design: Informing pandemic-safe building redesign with computational models of resident congestion This paper describes a computational design-support tool created in response to safe-distancing measures enforced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The tool was developed for a specific use case: understanding congestion in crowded migrant worker dormitories that experienced high rates of COVID-19 transmission in 2020. Building from agent-based and network-based computational simulations, the tool presents a hybrid method for simulating building resident movements based on known or pre-determined schedules and likely itineraries. This hybrid method affords the design tool a novel approach to simultaneous exploration of spatial and temporal design scenarios. The paper demonstrates the use of the tool on an anonymised case study of a high-density migrant worker dormitory, comparing results from a baseline configuration against design variations that modify dormitory physical configuration and schedule. 4965 | Photodynamic treatment of pathogens The current viral pandemic has highlighted the compelling need for effective and versatile treatments, that can be quickly tuned to tackle new threats, and are robust against mutations. Development of such treatments is made even more urgent in view of the decreasing effectiveness of current antibiotics, that makes microbial infections the next emerging global threat. Photodynamic effect is one such method. It relies on physical processes proceeding from excited states of particular organic molecules, called photosensitizers, generated upon absorption of visible or near infrared light. The excited states of these molecules, tailored to undergo efficient intersystem crossing, interact with molecular oxygen and generate short lived reactive oxygen species (ROS), mostly singlet oxygen. These species are highly cytotoxic through non-specific oxidation reactions and constitute the basis of the treatment. In spite of the apparent simplicity of the principle, the method still has to face important challenges. For instance, the short lifetime of ROS means that the photosensitizer must reach the target within a few tens nanometers, which requires proper molecular engineering at the nanoscale level. Photoactive nanostructures thus engineered should ideally comprise a functionality that turns the system into a theranostic means, for instance, through introduction of fluorophores suitable for nanoscopy. 4966 | Automatic generation of sailing holiday itineraries using vessel density data and semantic technologies Sailing holiday activities represent a significant portion of the Blue Economy growth in Europe and across the world. Due to the global financial crisis, yacht ownership has declined, but demand for such holiday products remained steady, therefore shifting the yachters profile towards younger and less experienced consumers who prefer to charter boats, rather than own one. Boat chartering offers more flexibility to explore different regions from year to year, but this means that significantly more time must be spent planning the route, since local experience is absent. The tourists’ experience during the initial contemplation and planning phase, taking place weeks or months before an actual trip, and where a broad range of route options needs to be explored, could thus significantly benefit from support given by automated IT tools. Current literature demonstrates a complete lack of research in the development of itinerary recommendation systems in the context of sailing holidays. In this paper, we describe a methodology for the automatic generation of route recommendations, based on the semantic modelling of spatial data, and the determination of realistic sea route options, based on vessel density maps produced from raw AIS data. 4967 | Auf Solidarität muss Solidität folgen Over the past two decades, the member states of the European Union (EU) have shown to a considerable extent solidarity with individual countries that have experienced financial difficulties. Solidarity is not a one-way street; it requires reciprocity. Member states can do this by focusing on more solidity in national fiscal and economic policies. The first major solidarity action responded to the euro debt crisis. Despite economic policy mistakes and the fact that the crisis was self-inflicted to this depth, the other EU states demonstrated solidarity. In doing so, they took significant financial risks for their own taxpayers by taking comprehensive support measures and establishing a euro rescue fund. The EU also showed solidarity with extensive aid packages during the Corona pandemic. The EU’s first Corona crisis package of May 2020 was followed by a reconstruction instrument known as the Next Generation EU (NGEU). It is worth almost 807 billion euros. Most of it goes to the Reconstruction and Resilience Facility and is to be used for investments and reforms in EU member states. Disbursement of the funds is tied to reconstruction and resilience plans, which must be submitted by the member states and are assessed by the European Commission. The fact that the countries make the plans themselves and the European Commission does not prescribe them, but only checks them, increases the so-called ownership and the chances of implementation. Where the efficacy of pandemic laws adopted by governments are a matter of life and death, the urgency with which action needs to be taken during a pandemic creates a law-making environment which incentivises rapid action without scrutiny and the use of power without restraint. Under such conditions, adherence to the foundational values of democracy and the rule of law come under increased pressure if not threat. The demands of emergency provide a convenient guise and means of justification for the use of power which only serves to consolidate power within the executive to the detriment of the separation of powers and weakening of the institutions of liberal democracy. This article provides a preliminary analysis on how the global health crisis has affected the state of democracy and the rule of law. While the specific examples are drawn from across the globe to highlight common trends and concerns, specific highlight is given to the EU and its Member States. 4969 | Prevalence and determinants of depression in patients with epilepsy during the COVID-19 pandemic BACKGROUND: Epilepsy is one of the commonest and most serious neurological conditions. It is frequently associated with one or more medical or psychiatric comorbidities. Depression is one of the most common comorbidities. Patients with epilepsy (PWE) are expected to suffer from a high level of depression during the COVID-19 pandemic. This cross-sectional study was applied to 290 PWE. Data was collected by personal interviews with each patient using the Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ 9) scale for the diagnosis of depression and assessing its severity. We aimed to assess the prevalence and the risk factors of depression in PWE during the COVID-19 pandemic. RESULTS: We found that 70.3% of PWE suffered from depression. Low financial status, refractory seizures, fear of infection and death by COVID-19, had close relatives died by COVID-19, had a sleep disturbance, a decreased family support, increased seizure rate during the pandemic, increased ER visits during the pandemic, lack of drug adherence, and decreased epilepsy-related follow-up visits during the pandemic were significantly associated with increased risk of depression in PWE during the pandemic. CONCLUSIONS: The COVID-19 pandemic has a serious effect on the psychological and physical well-being of PWE. There was an increased rate of depression during the COVID-19 pandemic in PWE with its subsequent burden on those patients. A wide range of such problems could be simplified through finite element analysis for a better solution. Many computational fluid dynamics problems could be solved by the finite element method (FEM) effectively by utilizing finite elements. A remarkable linear triangular element meshing over the transmission region between the individuals has been generated by triangular unstructured meshes to analyze the velocity of the virus. The flow intensity of the coronavirus has been analyzed within the standard specified distance recommended by WHO between two individuals at 1.83 m to hinder the spread of COVID-19. Extended work has fabulously extracted the element and nodal information from the discretization region. Moreover, it has been effectively utilized to simplify the numerical solutions of FEM and improve its efficiency to a larger extent. We have discretized the region of transmission of respiratory cough droplets carrying coronavirus from an infected person and the intensity and the speed of the transmission have been computed. The velocity of the transmission of coronavirus has been analyzed by solving an elliptical partial differential equation (PDE) over the region around the mask of an infected individual at a specified distance of 1.83m. Infectious transmission of COVID-19 in different environmental conditions is of numerous complexities to work on and analyze the growth of the infectious coronavirus. Mathematical models formulated for respiratory cough droplets carrying coronavirus can be very efficiently simplified through FEM when the information of the velocity of flow and existence of the coronavirus at the particular stage of transmission region is known. The present study of different temperatures and analysis of wind factors during the transmission process can help to reduce the infection risk between individuals if the recommended specified distance is maintained within the individuals. Institutions have not been ready for a digital transformation and online teaching. In response to these challenges, LA tools have been deployed for the following opportunities: monitoring, planning online learning process, fostering learners’ engagement and motivation, facilitating assessment process; increasing interaction, improving retention, being easy to use. 4979 | Differential impacts of e-portfolio assessment on language learners' engagement modes and genre-based writing improvement Portfolio assessment (PA) as an assessment for learning (AfL) alternative has been under-represented in second/foreign language acquisition (SLA) research literature. This study examined the potential impacts of electronic PA (e-PA) on English-as-a-Foreign-Language (EFL) learners’ engagement modes in descriptive and narrative genres of writing on Moodle™. To do so, 56 university students were non-randomly selected and assigned into two intermediate-level EFL cohorts. In a pretest-mediation-posttest study, descriptive and narrative writing tasks completed by two groups were subjected to teacher feedback, student reflection logs, and subsequent revision every week. Results of repeated measures ANOVA indicated significant progress in lower-level skills (sentence structure, word choice/grammar, mechanics), and moderate progress in higher-level skills (organization, development) in both groups’ genre-based writing. Results of one-way ANCOVA reported the notable pretest-to-posttest achievement by both groups with no intergroup statistical differences. The content of students’ reflection logs was inductively analyzed for their behavioral, emotional, and cognitive modes of engagement in e-PA. Qualitative data analysis indicated similar writing time intervals and recurrence of revisions as the behavioral mode of both groups. Participants also expressed novelty, low anxiety, and enjoyment as their emotional experiences. In terms of their cognitive experience, the majority agreed upon the applicability of teacher feedback and positive perception of writing improvement in e-PA. Yet, they were critical to regular mismatches between the scopes of teacher assessment and self-assessment, as well as teacher linguistic bias towards certain writing features. 4983 | Outcomes of COVID-19 in children with cancer-Report from the Indian Pediatric Oncology Group (InPOG) COVID-19 registry in India Introduction The clinical outcomes of COVID-19 infection in children with cancer have been variable worldwide. Therefore, we aimed to collect data from all regions in India through a national collaborative study and identify factors that cause mortality directly related to COVID-19 infection. Methods Data was collected prospectively on children across India on cancer therapy and diagnosed with COVID-19 infections from 47 centers from April 2020 to October 2021. Information was recorded on the demographics, the number of children that required intervention, and the outcome of the infection. In addition, we analyzed the impact of the delta variant in 2021. Results A total of 659 children were studied, of whom 64% were male and 36% were female. The data from the eastern region was sparse, and this was a collection bias. COVID-19 infection was predominantly seen in children less than five years. The delta variant had a higher impact in the southern region, and this was statistically significant. Of the 659 children, 30 children died (4.5%), however only 7 of the deaths were directly attributed to COVID-19 infection (1%). Conclusion The study reports the largest nationally representative cohort of children with cancer and COVID-19 to date in India. We identified demographic and clinical factors associated with increased all-cause mortality in patients with cancer. Complete characterization of the cohort has provided further insights into the effects of COVID-19 on cancer outcomes. This has led to the growth of contactless digital technologies for customers' and organisations' benefit. In this context, one specific area of interest is the remote work environment, especially the introduction of remote work systems (RWS) in organisations. Notwithstanding its growing importance, RWS implementation in developing countries has experienced several challenges. Thus, the purpose of this study is to empirically investigate the antecedents of RWS adoption in organisations among different industries in a developing country context. Using the technology, organisation and environment (TOE) framework, the study unearths the RWS antecedents through a quantitative method design (353 participants) in Ghana. Relative advantage, complexity, organisational readiness and competitive advantage had a significant impact on contactless digital technologies adoption while compatibility, top management support, competence and regulatory support were insignificant antecedents in a developing country context. 4985 | Explora-VR: Content Prefetching for Tile-Based Immersive Video Streaming Applications Despite the growing popularity of immersive video applications during the last few years, the stringent low latency requirements of this kind of services remain a major challenge for the existing network infrastructure. Edge-assisted solutions compensate for network latency by relying on cache-enabled edge servers to bring frequently accessed video content closer to the client. However, these approaches often require historical request traces from previous watching sessions or adopt passive caching strategies subject to the cold-start problem and prone to playout freezes. This paper introduces Explora-VR, a novel edge-assisted content prefetching method for tile-based 360[Formula: see text] video streaming. This method leverages the client’s rate adaptation heuristic to preemptively retrieve the content that the viewer will most likely watch in the upcoming segments, and loads it into a nearby edge server. At the same time, Explora-VR incrementally builds a dynamic collective buffer for serving the requests from active streaming sessions based on the estimated popularity of video tiles per segment. An evaluation of the proposed method was conducted on head movement traces collected from 48 unique users while watching three different 360[Formula: see text] videos. Results show that Explora-VR is able to serve over 98% of the client requests from the cache-enabled edge server, leading to an average increase of 2.5[Formula: see text] and 1.4[Formula: see text] in the client’s perceived throughput, compared to a conventional client-server setup and a least recently used caching policy, respectively. First, the results of latent class analysis clarified that diversified cognition and behavior toward urban agriculture are existing in urban residents. 4989 | In Search of the Authenticity of Contemporary Yogas of Non-Indian Matrix In this article, we discuss the issue of the authenticity of contemporary yogas of non-Indian matrices, specifically, five Brazilian yogic perspectives. Several new Indian trade schools emerged in the nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, the so-called modern yoga and its types emerged. These are spiritual movements that, although contain traditional beliefs and practices, deviate from the previous yogic matrices. Modern yogis, in turn, transplant their spiritual schools to geographies far from the Hindu canopy, such as Europe and the USA. Meanwhile, these transplanted modern yogas originate from other yogic denominations, which we here call Contemporary Yogas or Neo-Yogas, are deviations from traditional or Modern Yogas. The yogas that exist in Brazil are examples of contemporary spiritual perspectives produced by singular syncretisms and hybridisms within the Brazilian cultural and religious context. 4990 | A review of hypersensitivity methods to detect immune responses to SARS-CoV-2 The investigation of the immune response after SARS-CoV-2 infection has been the goal of many researchers worldwide. The study of humoral immune responses and in vitro T cell production after infection requires the obtaining of individualized blood samples to test the presence of antibodies or activated T cells specific for the virus. In vitro T cell studies are especially troublesome due to the need for more specialized resources often outside the daily routine of clinical laboratories. For this reason the development of a simple and objective method to achieve these T cell studies is needed. In this manuscript we reviewed the hypersensitivity reactions, the theoretical basis and the historical background of delayed type hypersensitivity (DTH) which uses the principles of use of this test in the clinical setting for the past century. In the second part of the review, we focus on COVID adaptive immune responses, to understand the differences and challenges offered by this new application of DTH to investigate immune responses elicited after infection. In the last part of the review a vision provided for the use of this test to investigate the immunogenicity elicited by the vaccines. In our opinion, the clinical guidelines of immune assessment of SARS-CoV-2-infected or vaccinated individuals should include this simple and low-cost test to measure T-cell immunity. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar la relación existente entre los factores personales, clínicos y paraclínicos con el desarrollo de complicaciones tromboembólicas venosas en pacientes hospitalizados con COVID-19. Métodos: Estudio de seguimiento a una cohorte retrospectiva de pacientes COVID-19 ingresados, de agosto del 2020 a febrero de 2021, en la Clínica Antioquia de Itagüí. Se incluyeron 525 historias clínicas de pacientes mayores de 18 años con diagnóstico confirmado para SARS-CoV-2. Resultados: Se identificó la presencia de eventos tromboembólicos en el 3% de los pacientes hospitalizados. De los pacientes con COVID-19 el 25,1% ingresó a unidad de cuidados intensivos, el 18,9% requirió ventilación mecánica invasiva. La mortalidad por COVID-19 en nuestro estudio fue de 18,1%. En los sujetos hospitalizados con SARS-CoV-2 se identificó asociación entre el desarrollo de eventos tromboembólicos con los niveles elevados de troponina I (HR 4,07; IC 95% 1,09-15,18), el antecedente de eventos tromboembólicos (HR 11,01; IC 95% 1,06-114,87) y trombocitopenia (HR 6,47; IC 95% 2,05-20,44). Conclusiones: Se encontró asociación entre las complicaciones tromboembólicas y el antecedente de ETV. Igualmente se concluyó que los valores de troponina ≧0,03 ngr/ml y niveles de plaquetas <150.000/mm3 se asocian con ETV. Background and objective: Several studies have reported on the thromboembolic alterations developed in patients with SARS-CoV-2 pneumonia, however, there are no definitive data on the risk factors for the appearance of these events. The aim of this study was to analyse the relationship between personal, clinical, and paraclinical factors and the development of venous thromboembolic complications in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Methods: Follow-up study of a retrospective cohort of COVID-19 patients admitted, from August 2020 to February 2021, to the Clínica Antioquia de Itagüí. 525 medical records of patients older than 18 years with a confirmed diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were included. Results: The presence of VTE was identified in 3% of hospitalized patients. Of the patients with COVID-19, 25.1% were admitted to the intensive care unit, 18.9% required invasive mechanical ventilation. Mortality from COVID-19 in our study was 18.1%. In patients hospitalized with SARS-CoV-2, an increased risk of development of thromboembolic events was identified in those with elevated levels of troponin I (HR 4.07; 95% CI 1.09-15.18), a history of prior thromboembolic events (HR 11.01; 95% CI 1.06-114.87), and thrombocytopenia (HR 6.47; 95% CI 2.05-20.44). Se han notificado alrededor de 50 casos de trombocitopenia y trombosis venosa relacionados por la vacuna COVID-19 de vector adenoviral en todo el mundo. No se han reportado casos en la población gestante en la literatura mundial. Presentamos el caso de una mujer hispana de 25 años con un embarazo de 31 semanas, sin enfermedades previas. Fue inmunizada con la vacuna ChAdOx1 nCoV-19; días después, desarrolló convulsiones tónico-clónicas, trombosis masiva de miembros y hemorragia intracerebral; se descartaron enfermedades hipertensivas relacionadas al embarazo, entidades reumatológicas y hematológicas. Se obtuvo un resultado positivo por ELISA para anticuerpos del complejo anti-heparina-factor plaquetario 4 (PF4), concluyendo el diagnóstico de trombocitopenia inmune trombótica inducida por vacuna, causada por la vacuna COVID-19 de vector adenoviral. Esta nueva entidad se caracteriza por la presencia del factor plaquetario 4, no dependiente de heparina. She was immunized with the ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 vaccine; days later, she developed tonic-clonic seizures, massive limb thrombosis, and intracerebral haemorrhage; hypertensive diseases related to pregnancy, rheumatological and haematological entities were ruled out. A positive result for anti-heparin-platelet factor 4 (PF4) complex antibodies was obtained by ELISA, concluding the diagnosis of vaccine-induced thrombotic immune thrombocytopenia, caused by an adenoviral vector COVID-19 vaccine. 4995 | COVID-19 as a catalyst of a new container port hierarchy in Mediterranean Sea and Northern Range COVID-19 has dramatically impacted the organization of value chains and the pattern of international trade. The manufacturing sector has had to act resiliently, and the maritime sector was no exception. Container shipping lines have adapted their routes, services and fleet deployment with direct effects on many port activities. Our analysis focuses exclusively on container vessels by considering number of calls and calculating total containership capacity deployed within 45 Western Mediterranean and Northern European ports throughout 2018, 2019 and 2020. 2018 is considered as a ‘business as usual’ year, without exceptional events. 2019 is the start of the outbreak and 2020 is the year most impacted by the economic consequences of the pandemic. As we cover at least one port in each country, we considered ports that handled more than one million TEUs per year and if the country did not have such a port, we considered the largest one. The aim of our analysis is dual. First, we attempt to point out the importance of certain ports as major hubs and the downgrading of others to regional hubs, gateways or feeder ports in the Western Mediterranean and Northern Europe. Second, our objective was to assess the way shipping alliances have impacted the ranking of these ports during COVID-19. As a result, this exceptional crisis has not been a catalyst of a new port hierarchy while it has revealed contrasting situations with ‘poor’ and ‘good’ crisis resilience for ports meaning that some were downgraded, and others maintained their ranking. Moreover, COVID-19 has exacerbated the maritime alliances’ shortcomings, their capacity to unilaterally impose their decisions through their Cooperative Working Agreements, regardless of the consequences both for transport users and ports. 4996 | A Regional Economy's Resistance to the COVID-19 Shock: Sales Revenues of Micro-, Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises in South Korea The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic that has heavily impacted not only the health sector, but also the economic sector in general. Many countries have projected a negative economic impact, and the effect on micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) is predicted to be significantly large. This study estimated the regional resistance of MSME sales revenues and identified the regional economic factors that affect resistance by analyzing South Korea, a country with one of the lowest economic impact projections from COVID-19. Resistance was estimated by comparing sales revenues and changes in resistance observed during the early COVID-19 period to those recorded in the same weeks (weeks 6 to 9) of 2019. The factors that affect regional resistance were determined by conducting robust regression and spatial regression analyses. The results show that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases, a direct risk factor, is negatively related to regional resilience, while diversity is positively related to regional resistance. This special issue seeks to advance the interdisciplinary field of human rights research by examining key elements of the emerging transnational regime for the regulation of business and human rights. In seven original contributions, scholars from political science, law, accounting, and philosophy critically reflect on the theoretical foundations of the UNGPs, they analyze the effectiveness of implementation mechanisms and current regulatory practice, and they advance proposals for the future development of the business and human rights regime. In this introduction, we prepare the ground for these analyses, proceeding in three steps. Firstly, we argue that the adoption of the UNGPs has triggered a norm cascade which requires a distinctive, empirically oriented research agenda focusing on the scope, governance, and effectiveness of corporate human rights accountability norms and instruments. Secondly, we explain how the articles in this special issue contribute to that research agenda by addressing these themes. 5000 | Pericapsular nervegroup (PENG) block-a scoping review The obturator nerve and its accessory branch supplying the hip region, unlike the femoral nerve, are not adequately anaesthetized by conventional regional anaesthetic techniques targeting the hip region. With advancements in ultrasound-guided regional anaesthetic techniques, interests are revived in the field and efforts are being made to block them together. One such successful attempt is the novel peri-capsular nerve group (PENG) block. Consequently, further research on the PENG block began to explore its versatilities. The present study undertakes a scoping review of research on the PENG block in humans for any indication to determine the extent of the research done, the methodologies used, and other practical issues addressed in the research. This will help to identify potential research gaps that should be addressed in the future. PubMed, Google Scholar, Cochrane Library, KoreaMed, Latin American and Caribbean Health Science Literature, and the directory of open access journals were searched with the keyword “PENG block” and “pericapsular nerve group”. Manual search of electronically retrieved papers was also carried out. Among the 67 articles selected in our review, eighteen are case series; twenty-nine are case reports; two are randomized studies; one each of prospective cohort study, review, and cadaveric study; and 15 are editorials. However, only 64 articles were included later due to the retraction of three case reports. Data is insufficient to provide firm recommendations for or against different aspects of the block. The review encourages future work addressing different aspects of the PENG block.
